A Magnificent Grand Canyon Bike Adventure

Sunday, August 2nd, we took our second trip to the Grand Canyon south rim for a biking adventure. On route to the Canyon we were greeted with a breathtaking sunrise as we drove SR64 north from Williams.

After entering the park we parked at the Market Plaza and started our ride from there. When we arrived at the Grand Canyon Village there were a group of elk wandering about munching on the succulent greenery and not even phased by the passers by.

After having a few Kodak moments we embarked on the familiar ride from the Village to Hermits Rest and back. There were many stops on route to sight-see and just enjoy the quiet and beauty of the morning.
It was truly a gift to be able to enjoy the magnificence of the Canyon in the early morning hours.

The snow keeps on keeping on!

A series of strong winter storms hit the mountains of northern Arizona this past week covering the landscape and loaded down the ponderosa pines with two feet of snow. It was a breathtaking sight to behold - from the inside of a warm cabin of course!

Visiting Hummingbirds

From the porch we watch the resident hummingbirds fly back and forth from their watering hole (aka: hummingbird feeder) to the Ponderosa Pines in the front yard.

They're becoming less intimidated by our presence as witnessed by the fact that we sit within 6 feet of where they feed.
